JAPAN, December 20, 2006 - I-O DATA Device, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “I-O DATA”) is proud to announce the arrival of the LANDISK Tera, premium model HDL-GTR series, a gigabit LAN (1000 BASE-T) connection terabyte hard disk supporting the RAID 5 format. This top-of-the-line model is intended mainly for corporate applications and is packed with functionality. The lineup features two models, at 1TB and 2TB*1 capacity respectively, both planned to ship at the end of January 2007. The current estimated shipping target for this product is around 1,000 units per month.
This new product uses 4 cartridge disks for large-capacity storage space,
boasting a flexible RAID composition, and is based on the popular
LAN-connection LANDISK Tera HDL-GT series hard disk. The new
model has various innovative functions specialized for business
application. It utilizes a high-speed gigabit LAN network, and hot-swap
style cartridge hard disks, Relational HD*2 for simple front-based exchange.
Inheriting the superior performance and maintainability of its forebear,
the HDL-GT series, it also features the enhanced data security essential
for modern office use.
